Andrew Bridgen: a modern-day Job?
Transition from a successful businessman to spiritual warrior has ancient precedent
Yesterday on the Mayan “day out of time” I had a memorable experience watching former politician Andrew Bridgen give a heartfelt and very personal talk on corruption in Britain. The location was Peterlee, which shares the status of having lost its mining industry with Andrew’s constituency of North West Leicestershire. He is a man who experienced material success in many forms, started to see the falsehood of the “official reality construct”, spoke out when no others in authority would do so, and refused to be bought off or silenced. His totemic causes are the Horizon IT scandal with the Post Office, and excess deaths from Covid policy interventions. In both cases exposure of the cover-up taints core governmental and legal institutions.
Andrew endures considerable suffering, having been stripped of his business, home, income, career, savings, family, parliamentary seat, and worldly media reputation. However, I would assert that this is an unrecognised blessing, not the perceived curse, freeing him. He is transitioning into a spiritual leadership role, even if he has yet to recognise that fully himself, and these were chains that held him back. I say this from a place of also having been “spat out” by the system from a high-flying place; lost much as a result; smeared by the Financial Times, Newsweek, and Evening Standard plus others; and deplatformed over and over and over. It is hard to believe in butterflies if all you have ever known is caterpillars; his spiritual metamorphosis is underway.
To start with the ending, we are used to politicians giving people a firm but insincere handshake. In contrast, I got an appreciative and gentle one from Andrew for urging him to allow others to take care of him, and give him support, as the public do for me. The figural moment for me was his willingness to accept a loving hug from a spiritually enlivened lady companion, who recognised he was on the verge of tears. I have never before had to pray for a parliamentarian while he spoke in public; this was my exception. The “matrix system” is out to destroy him, and it is hard to watch. This is one of our national heroes, in a room of heroes. You may wish to pray for him, too.
Andrew was explicitly offered by those in high places to “name his price” to shut up, and his only price was the resignation of a corrupt prime minister, not a payout or privilege. He named names of senior politicians who knew about crimes, but refused to act. Several members of the audience seemed determined to “hold him to account” as a former conservative politician, and totally lost sight of the man, in a way that dismayed me. He had rejected the obvious delinquency of the left, only to find himself surrounded by the self-righteous of the right, and is now relocating the rarely-trodden narrow path. His one friend and ally in politics lost his limbs to a Covid jab; Andrew himself is vaccine injured.
Andrew told of how his second wife wanted him to take the bribe money so they could continue their lush lifestyle, and he lost her (and a child) when he said no. He is also estranged from his children in his first marriage due to his heresy against the prevailing authoritarian climate. Many of us are in the same situation, having made the same mistakes, and had the same outcome. These hardships are the result of having pursued self-will and united with partners who did not share the same veneration for truth and morality. The parting video he played was about right and wrong, not political matters, and this speaks everything about the man in my eyes.
Andrew is clearly highly informed on the tyrannical and totalitarian threats we are facing, and is clear we have to stand up and say no, not await rescue. He used many terms that will resonate with readers here: “precipice”, “storm”, and “Biblical”. His personal story has a strong resonance with a character from the Bible, right down to a wife who asked him to curse that which is sacred. Take a moment to read through the story of Job, a man whose faith was tested to the extreme, and parallels Andrew’s hardships. [This is a mix of my notes from a clever helper and ChatGPT prose aid.]
Job was a faithful servant of God, blessed abundantly with a loving wife, children, and a wealth of sheep and livestock. His life was the epitome of prosperity and happiness. But the Enemy, seeking to challenge Job's faithfulness, proposed a test to God, arguing that Job's loyalty was only due to the blessings he received. "Take everything from him," the Enemy insisted, "and he will surely curse you."
God, confident in Job's steadfastness, allowed the Enemy to strip Job of his blessings, with one condition: Job's life was to be spared. Thus, calamity struck. One by one, disasters befell him. While his children were feasting, a great wind caused the house to collapse, killing them all. Raiders attacked and slaughtered his livestock, leaving only one servant alive to relay the tragic news to Job. In an instant, Job was ruined, his world turned to ash.
Despite his profound losses, Job's faith in God remained unshaken. The Enemy, seeing Job's enduring trust, sought to afflict him further. "Take his health," he challenged, believing that physical suffering would break Job's spirit. God consented but with the same caveat: Job's life was not to be taken.
Job was then stricken with painful boils from head to toe. In utter misery, he sat in an ash heap, clothed in sackcloth, scraping his sores with a shard of pottery. His suffering was immense, and his wife, overwhelmed by the despair, urged him to "curse God and die." But Job, though deeply tormented, refrained from cursing his Creator. Instead, he cursed the day of his birth, lamenting the day he came into existence as a day that should be blotted out of time.
Job's friends came to visit him, sitting with him in the ash heap, initially offering silent companionship. But soon they began to question him, insinuating that his suffering must be a result of some hidden sin or wickedness. They believed that such severe punishment could only be justified by grievous wrongdoing.
In his anguish, Job finally cried out to God, seeking answers to his inexplicable suffering. God responded to Job, not with explanations, but with a series of questions that highlighted the vastness of divine wisdom and the limits of human understanding. "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?" God asked. "Who marked off its dimensions? Who shut up the sea behind doors? Can you pull in Leviathan with a fishhook or tie down its tongue with a rope?"
Through this divine discourse, Job realized the magnitude of God's creation and the unfathomable nature of His ways. Humbled and enlightened, Job's faith was reaffirmed. Recognizing his place in the grand tapestry of creation, Job submitted to God's wisdom.
In recognition of Job's unwavering faith and trust, God restored his fortunes, blessing him with twice as much as he had before. His wealth was replenished, and he was blessed with new children, long life, and prosperity. Job's story stands as a testament to the ineffable and unfathomable nature of divine providence and the strength of unwavering faith in the face of suffering.
I am sure Andrew would recognise much of his own journey here, albeit an incomplete narrative arc in his own instance. He has sought remedy and reform within the existing system, and on its terms, but it does not exist there. His successes as a politician of economic and social development in the material life, reflecting his own achievements, are not to be diminished. Yet they are only part of the picture: a good life is not necessarily a nicely furnished home, party nights out, or foreign holidays. Sometimes we forego those comforts as we have a higher calling — not that we will deny the benefits of any blessings that come our way.
Andrew’s entry into politics came from “beer nights” out with his entrepreneurial friends. Many in the audience were sipping beer and wine from the neighbouring bar in the hotel. I had a similar experience as a presenter at a freedom event a few weeks beforehand, where we had to work around “beer and footie”. This is incongruous for a freedom-minded crowd, as indulging in the “bread and circuses” exhibits behaviour that show we are bound to the system. The spiritual task is becoming conscious of this, so we may adapt.
The purpose of alcohol is to dull our wits when we need to be razor-sharp. Soldiers on the battlefield don’t drink. These events are not entertainment; we are genuinely at war and people are dying — both bodily and spiritually. The shift we are going through is a “beerless” one; many in our freedom movement are forsaking anything that despoils our temple, myself included. It is not that we are teetotal advocates, but to recognise there is a paradigm change, and you cannot straddle two worlds forever. We are swapping hard hearts and soft minds for the converse, in a world that becomes dangerously punitive for rejecting its selfish pursuits.
Every one of us has a moment when we go “all in” on following “the way”, and cannot go back into the system. That has external behavioural changes — say refusing to pay slavery charges like council tax — as well as internal restructuring to accept divine will and grace for our lapses. It is a lifelong journey, and we can learn from both the successes and failures of those who have gone before us. An example I cited to Andrew was the multi-decade fight of Joan and Derek Bye for justice in the Epilim scandal, the lesser-known cousin of the Thalidomide nightmare. We don’t have decades to fix our current horror show, and it helps to know why and how they stalled in holding pharmaceutical criminals to account.
There was one point where I disagree with Andrew. He claimed that nobody is coming to rescue us, but that is to deny the existence of benevolent forces unseen, both natural and supernatural. My sense is that we have already been rescued, as Covid was meant to be part of a far worse genocide, but has been quietly halted. The media’s credibility is being destroyed in the eyes of the masses, and this is planned and orchestrated. Many of us watch with fascination the plausibly deniable backchannels that military intelligence have opened with the informed and awake public. While there are rough times ahead, the price for repentance from a life of self-will is prepaid.
In business and politics Andrew was “playing the game”, even if doing so with maximum integrity and honour. Now he can see the game for what it is — rigged. Worse, he has long ago crossed the critical threshold of recognising evil exists, and there are dark powers that wish to harm us, even weaponising “good” people as its agents. Those of us who have been “forced out” earlier from “the game” have of necessity had to retool with upgraded spiritual armour and weapons for a fight that goes far beyond the world of politics, finance, and law. Andrew may not recognise himself as a modern-day Job, and to do so may offer solace: his restoration is coming.
Andrew lost his seat in parliament due to an obviously rigged election, with ballot boxes going into hiding, and implausible counts. This may be higher powers protecting him from the blowback to come as the public realise they have been poisoned and seek revenge. It also positions him to seek aid at a personal level from his constituents, many of whom will be irate at having their voice silenced, and willing to sacrifice all to reverse treason. It requires a change in mindset, however.
The present website for Andrew Bridgen “the role” raises money so “all donations have a direct impact on my campaign and help me further my mission.” In future, it goes to fund the man on his mission to restore truth and morals to society; political campaigns are obsolete. His status is as a representative of humanity, and he has that regardless of whether he occupies an official or elected role. The power is already his, it doesn’t require a vote. He “just is” a true representative of the people who lack a voice. Even the evening sunlight, streaming through a window, lit up his anointing as a “white light”.
We have all been put to the test spiritually over the past few years, and forced to confront who we are, as well as those around us, however difficult that may be. Every one of us has carried many identities and personas that we confused with our true essence. Businessman, father, politician — those are roles, and are contingent on the outside world. Andrew has “looked up” in a fallen world, and had those roles taken off him. Yet Job too faced the same path, with the same family struggles:
Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die." But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
My belief is that Andrew, as someone who will not sin with his lips, is transiting to greatness in a way he himself may not yet understand. His faith is being tested via these trials, that every itchy blotch on his allergic skin is a testament to his determination not to condemn his Creator. He is not alone in these battles, at many levels, and events like last night may help bring spiritual relief and aid that he clearly needs. With perseverance and wisdom, he will receive material goodness again, on divine timing. And my God, Andrew Bridgen so deserves it — as a modern-day Job.
When the people of Andrew Bridgen’s constituency did not vote to restore him as their representative then they received the politician that they deserved, but we as a country suffered incalculable loss as he was the one lone voice in a sea of corruption that spoke for us all 😢
Even if he was not entirely successful in his endeavours in Parliament then merely by his actions of attempting to bring things to light he actually showed us all the depths to which our society had sunk and shone a light into the dark corners of the establishment for us all to see.
An authentic man, a man of substance 🌟 I salute Mr Bridgen for standing up to the bullies and bringing Truth to light. May Love, Courage, Good Health and Prosperity accompany him on the Path ahead🍀💜🌟
