We have the same issue here.

We have Cities, Counties, State, and Congressional laws and numerous "regulatory agencies" at every level, mostly in the form of taxes and fines. Then, above that, we have the Constitution, then above that English Common Law, which derives from the principles in the Magna Carta, then Admiralty Law which regulates all commerce.

The older foundational laws provide certain principles for sovereignty, who can own create and pass laws. Legally, States and Congress -- and other entities further down the chain -- cannot pass new laws that are in conflict with the founding documents, yet it happens all the time. It stands because we have elected officials and judges who a) don't understand the law and falsely believe they have authority which they do not possess, or b) do understand foundational law and don't care if they exercise authority which extends beyond the founding principles. In either case, there are few who have the resources to fight back against congressional or judicial overreach. Even our Supreme Court, which is supposed to guard against breeches of authority, is ideologically divided in how to interpret Constitutional authority. Plus, to make a difficult matter worse, elected officials routinely IGNORE the Supreme Court if they don't like the decisions handed down. The Supreme Court has no means to enforce its decisions other than the integrity of the justice system and the sheriffs to act on breeches.

We are at a tipping point where respect for the law and the hierarchy of laws are breaking down, leaving the criminals to do as they please with the instruments of power.

I love that Paul Daniel opens his comments with:

"You continue to amaze me, Martin" as that is my response as well. As with God, I am never surprised, yet always amazed, by the wisdom and guidance offered and received.

You are a brilliant wordsmith, because you are sharing your lived experience with so much passion.

I, too, have been extremely challenged by family estrangement. On both sides of my family, only my husband and his truly amazing 92 year old and very wise Mother share my way of seeing what is happening in the world. Once again, this gives me the opportunity to focus on my faith in God and trust in the Sacred Path. The " dial tone to the Divine" as you say, is essential to tune into and gives us the instructions: " It is your duty to make a din". The Constitution tells us the same---it is our right, and it is our duty. So this truly is a Sacred Assignment, and I must find the courage always, to carry onward and upward!

Martin, thank you so much from my heart for being such a lovely way-shower.
