Announcing a new X community to coordinate meatspace events and meetups

I am currently sat around 30 miles SW of Nashville, TN — an unscheduled but long-overdue trip to the US whose timing has been dictated by some family drama off the public stage. While I am over here, and subject to the whims of higher powers and military plans, I will do some speaking gigs and meetups. Once scheduled, those will be announced in good time via this newsletter. (As an aside, I wish Substack had a feature to separate content posts from other admin or marketing posts, and allow a choice over which ones to receive, tailored to geography.)

In the meantime, if you would like to join the “organising committee” for my “American tour” (and any future events elsewhere) then I have set up an X group for the purpose. Not sure if it is the ideal medium, but let’s give it a go! While all my “prepper” stuff for whacky times is back in England, I am also here “on faith” taking one step at a time with the support of “frens”. It is an odd feeling of being materially vulnerable yet being absolutely “comfy”, knowing that it will be alright no matter what craziness is thrown at us over the next 2-3 months.

My intention is to be in TN, AL, GA, NC, FL up until around Thanksgiving. I have 90 days in the country maximum on a visa waiver as a tourist, and cannot do any paid work. Who knows if the Federal government and all its immigration laws will last that long! For all I know by the time I am due back in England we will be in a completely different world under new rules. That said, people who don’t intend to do anything don’t achieve anything, so I will set forth as if we’re in a relative “business as usual” mode until someone “flips the switch” and events take over to drive our actions.
