This is a summary version of the talk I gave in London last week. First section is notes about my own spiritual path, tidied up by ChatGPT:
My journey has deep roots in my childhood, shaped by the contrast between my parents. My mother was a Jehovah’s Witness, while my father wasn’t involved in the faith at all. This left me as more of an observer, trying to make sense of it all from the sidelines. I’ve always been "allergic to everything religious," and as I grew older, I began to see a clear division between religion and spirituality. It’s been a long road, but I’m now recovering a more authentic spiritual view that resonates with me.
Professionally, I spent 25 years as a computer scientist in the tech and telecoms industry, reaching a reasonably senior level. However, I was never just an engineer; I’ve always been interested in the deeper truths behind the technology. This perspective led me to become what I now describe as a "telecoms truther." But that pursuit of truth came at a significant cost. My outspoken views, particularly my support of the Q movement, got me labeled a "conspiracy theorist," and I lost almost everything—my career, reputation, savings, friends, family, and even my home.
Now, I’m on a path of reconciliation, embracing a higher power and focusing on spiritual growth. My activism has played a central role in this, though it hasn’t been without obstacles. I’ve been deplatformed, smeared, and ostracised, but I continue to speak out through Substack, X, and other platforms. My book reflects my evolving understanding of the world, combining spiritual and intellectual insights.
As an artist, I’m working on rebalancing my intellect with intuition, building a deeper spiritual confidence. In some ways, I see my role as similar to a "priest"—not in the religious sense, but through the idea that we "know them by their fruit." The "anons" have shown incredible dedication and spiritual wisdom in their quest for truth, and I try to live by those same principles. My creative and spiritual work is aimed at helping both myself and others awaken to greater truths.
My “spiritual exit from the law” is shaped through various legal battles, both my own, and those of other people. Three in particular stand out:
Corruption in Council Tax debt collection (Durham County Council).
Unconstitutional Penalty Charge Notices when travelling (Newcastle, TfL, Equita)
Harassment and fraud by public service broadcasting (TV Licensing)
There are many others:
Palnackie Harbour — theft of public assets by “land pirates”
Porky Pint pub — corrupt judicial support for unlawful lockdowns
Cumbria Constabulary — simulation of law to steal data and money
Michael Humble — framed for protesting against Covid/5G
Andrew Stephenson — gangster-style cut off from power grid; no recourse
Wiltshire council — failed to fix lethal fumes from well-connected neighbour
Police Scotland — persecuted innocent family for fighting unlawful eviction
Extreme Fitness gym — same as Porky Pint — huge costs fighting lockdown
Glasgow City Council — unlawful deduction of salary for fake council tax debt
Isle of Skye — courts put on notice for complicity in genocide and trafficking
There are common Common themes of modern slavery through debt and deceit, and those allied to the establishment protecting each other at all costs:
Turning living men/women into “people” via administrative law
Trusts that abuse actual trust; trickery to act as power of attorney/trustee with liability
Fake oaths of office; no adherence to constitution leading to treason & war crimes
Judges who uphold the establishment narrative in opposition to the law
Courts that cheat in listings and procedure
Litigants in person are treated with contempt
Police ignore crimes by authorities
However, it is not all bad, and I had a good experience in the High Court once, and was treated well by police when I had a stalker. There are many good people trapped inside bad systems.
To highlight the morass we are in, and reframe it as a spiritual issue, I unpick there initial three journeys into court. Each legal battle is contextualised in a spiritual war.
The punchline is that there is no lasting remedy from the legal system by design; while deeply corrupted, it is functioning correctly. The law delivers finality, not fairness or justice, in order to temporarily keep the peace. Until you make a free will choice to submit to “The Way”, you are spiritually dead and under the law, so they consider this unfairness and injustice to be an appropriate tradeoff for establishing order among the rabble. The corruption should be resisted, but the inbuilt deadness of law itself should not. The only escape is become spiritually alive and be apart from their system of law, which demands submission to divine will. You then need support from a (small c) church to withstand persecution for “raising your vibe” and looking up.
Facts about the legal cases
The specific data on each case is less important than the spiritual analysis, so the story is only told to give context to the latter. We will progress through four different lenses on each matter: the factual, the moral, the legal, and finally the spiritual. Let’s do the factual first, for those unfamiliar with the stories.
With TV Licensing, I got tired of their “love letters” threatening me with house visits if I didn’t make a statement about having a TV, which I am not lawfully required to do. So I turned the tables on them, and offered to contract with them for my premium writing services. They kept corresponding via post, but didn’t pay my bills, so instead I sued “TV Licensing”. They didn’t respond, so I got a default judgement. Then the BBC’s contractor, Capita, leapt in to get a set-aside motion, claiming the dog ate their homework. This was granted, despite them having no standing (as the BBC have legal liability for “TV Licensing”), and being in breach of various laws. I appealed, got one misbehaving judge recused, and then was denied permission to appeal. The next judge ignored the facts that the BBC and Capita are presenting “TV Licensing” as a legal person when it is not, in order to send the assets to the BBC, and liabilities to Capita, as criminal corporate fraud. However, Capita are too scared to invoice me for the costs they were awarded, as it is nakedly illegal and could put someone in jail.
With council tax, I read up on how courts were operating outside of both the civil and criminal procedure rules, let alone the constitution, to harvest cash off the public for a debt they were not obligated to pay. So I waited to get the “notice of liability order” from Durham County Council, and offered to pay based on evidence that a court order existed. This kicked off a long saga of letters, complaints, harassment, fraud, extortion, cease and desist notices, court record requests, court visit, estoppel procedure, threats, lies, and corruption. The police would not allow me to file a criminal complaint. The council agent arrived at court in the same car as the magistrate, who said they were “there to collect money” (in breach of public oath to uphold the law). I wrote to Parliament asking why they claimed sovereignty and who approved their website, and was stonewalled. I wrote to the Supreme Court why they have an “Eye of Horus” design motif, and was stonewalled. The council have deemed me “vexatious” and I await them going to prison under military law for terrorism.
The third case study is how councils are scamming money off the public for exercising their innate right to travel on the public highway. I was taking a friend to Newcastle train station in my Ford Escort van, and they state on their website that private cars are not charged their “clean air zone” fee, but vans are. It is my private car, and has identical emissions to a Ford Escort saloon or hatchback; Newcastle City Council have no lawful interest in regulating the shape of my private conveyance. I made representations to the council that their penalty charge was inequitable, unlawful, and unconstitutional. They rejected them, so I took it to the Traffic Penalty Tribunal. Multiple observers were excluded, they would not tell me their jurisdiction, and there was insufficient time to give proper legal argument. The adjudicator stated there was “no room” to consider the law! I asked to Chief Adjudicator if they were really sure they wanted to break the law, and she agreed that treason is their thing! The debt then went to enforcement by Equita, who also broke the law, lacking legal assignment of the sum owed as property, and in breach of data protection law.
Moral lessons
TV licensing are running an extortion and protection racket, using legislation from a Parliament that has exceeded its authority. “We want you to make a statement under threat” is forced labour, and thus a form of slavery; how small the infraction does not change its nature. Courts routinely ignore the law in order to rule in favour of authorities; they are not doing their job! We are meant to respect governing authorities as long as they uphold the law and operate within their remit. Yet there is a presumption that officialdom is not criminal, which permits authorities to commit crimes. “To prevent potential crime with no evidence of a crime we commit crimes” is pure tyranny.
The tax collectors at Durham County Council follow a morality of “everything is acceptable as long as we follow administrative rules mindlessly”. This puts them above the law. They are also charging for an inalienable right (seeking shelter) as a privilege, thus being in the business of slavery too, as it forces you to labour to merely exist. They engage in endless stonewalling, intimidation, and misdirection. This is witchcraft: manipulation and intimidation for purpose of domination. Their letters use many occult techniques to get money and energy out of us; it is “black magic”.
Newcastle City Council and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal do not abide by “do unto others”, and there is no room for each man or woman to consider moral implications of the impact on others. They value their salary and pension above all else, and would gladly render me without transport (and ability to afford to reach critical welfare and work appointments) for their own gain. They don’t realise they are accessories to fraud and treason and are ultimately accountable; this arrogance may cost them dearly. Indeed, they will uphold moral absurdities without any reason. The accuser, adjudicator, magistrate, judge, jury, executioner are all parts of one entity. There is no proper hearing, no conscience, and no constitutional law. Money is put ahead of everything; “public health” as a pretext and excuse for fraudulent debt.
Legal lessons
The point of the seminar is to talk about exit from the law, not law itself. That said, these bruising encounters with the law taught me a lot. I only enumerate them, not so much for you to read, but just to note that this is learning law “on the hoof” to repel criminals acting in an official capacity.
TV Licensing: Contract law, standing, Fraud Act 2006, legal persons, Modern Slavery Act 2015, complaints, set-aside, litigant in person, judicial recusal, appeals procedure.
Durham County Council: stay in honour, notice of conditional acceptance; obligation to pay; slavery; personage – Martin the man vs Mr Martin Geddes (CAPS); claim/proof of claim in common law; jurisdiction; trust law; subinfeudation – council acting via obscure feudal law; estoppel – to overcome stonewalling; Statutes — many (too much to go into here).
Newcastle City Council/Traffic Penalty Tribunal: Legislation converting administrative rulings to bypass constitutional and case law; equity – above statute; tort of conversion; DVLA – repurposing info unlawfully; case law — Coca Cola and multiple uses of conveyances; trust law to protect assets; data protection law.
It would be easy to write reams on each of these individual items, but that is to miss the point. What matters is the whole of it — who wants to spend their days in dry legal text books when you could be having fun? We aren’t meant to spend all our days fighting those who are supposed to serve and protect us!
Spiritual lessons
Each of these legal cases also raises spiritual issues and provides growth opportunities. This is just a superficial study of the spiritual issues that the legal cases touch on, as the point is spiritual exit from the law, not spiritual optimisation of the law.
TV Licensing
I “held the line”, neither advancing into their territory (“I am going to take down the BBC on my own!”), nor retreating and letting them abuse me (even if there isa lifetime imprisonment term for forced labour).
The job is exposure, and they are impaled on their own lies. There is no need for me to plot or scheme (or even fight). All I have to do is tell the truth.
At the start of the appeal hearing I was asked if I wanted to proceed, as they may be awarded costs. In doing so, I was turning the other cheek.
You don’t have to put banners over roads or set up websites to denounce them; my person testimony is enough.
I am really putting the court on trial, not BBC/Capita. Will they apply their own laws with blind justice and the greatest possible power imbalance?
It is a “David and Goliath” battle, but the stone doesn’t kill the giant; Goliath fell forward. God supplied the stone; I am available to launch it.
Durham County Council
The magistrate who announced “we are here to collect money” (and not uphold the law) simply stated that the court worships money.
When you have two or more witnesses you cross over into God’s law, and they know it, and it makes them nervous. All the trickery does not absolve them of accountability to their Creator.
Newcastle City Council
They offered to pay me off for £36 and drop the whole matter, and I refused, holding the line. Was this wise? I maintained a principle, but at what cost to my sanity?
We are at war, and it is omni-directional, including the physical (threats to come to your home, unlawfully) as well as spiritual (if the Devil can’t take you out, he wears you out).
I fought the law and the law won!
The outcome of these legal cases is not important in themselves. What is important is that it sucks out our energy, so we cannot fight every intrusion into our lives at once, while having to learn the law from scratch, and having no resources to hire legal help, with no way to pay off costs if we lose. The learning experience is valuable, but this is not how we seek to live as a society, being at loggerheads with our neighbours and brothers. Some people seek to impose hell upon others, and the law needs to intercede. Other people have different concepts of heaven, and the law has to reconcile. Either way, the law serves a function as guardian of those operating in self-will.
Sovereignty is still a form of enslavement
Sovereignty, as defined within legal systems, remains a form of enslavement because it relies on legal fictions such as titles, names, and rights granted by the state, rather than true natural freedom. While sovereignty may appear to offer independence and authority, it still operates within the framework of positive law, which imposes rules and obligations. A sovereign is subject to the same legal constructs that govern “persons,” meaning that they are still bound by the legal system’s definitions, restrictions, and liabilities. Thus, even the concept of sovereignty perpetuates a form of voluntary servitude, as individuals remain tied to the legal fictions that control their identity and actions.
Natural law is necessary but not sufficient
Natural law purports the offer true freedom, which transcends these artificial constructs and allows for self-governance without external impositions. Natural law says we cannot infringe on the free will of others, and is the path to sovereignty. The challenge is that is clearly not sufficient to get the law out of our lives. Perhaps the best example is with marriage (and divorce). Absent coercion or fraud, two people who get together and have a conventional wedding are freely entering into a legal agreement. Natural law has nothing to say about whether they should be intimate or procreating; it is their free will choice. However, the consequences are clearly devastating, both to them and their children, as anyone who has gone through the pain of divorce can attest.
Marriage an exemplar of contract vs covenant
Our current society is dominated by contracts, which focus on self-interest, legalism, and enforcement rather than trust and moral alignment. A covenant is a spiritual agreement (promise from God) based on shared values, aimed at unity and long-term relationships, unlike the transactional nature of contracts. The subversion of marriage and other sacred relationships into legal contracts diminishes their spiritual significance. Moving from a contract-based to a covenant-based society can restore trust, balance, and deeper societal harmony. Being in covenant implies submission to divine will, which leads to harmony and peace. You are not above the law, just you no longer generate controversy or criminality that requires the law’s involvement.
Immersion into covenant is the exit from the law
Immersion offers a spiritual exit from the law by symbolising the individual's transition from self-will to divine will. Under self-will, people are bound by laws to manage conflicts and wrongdoing, but through immersion, they acknowledge their spiritual death to that old life and are reborn in alignment with divine purpose. This shift liberates them from the need for external rules to govern their behavior, as they now operate according to conscience and the natural flow of life, governed by a higher spiritual authority. Immersion thus frees individuals from the karmic and legal consequences of self-will, allowing them to live beyond the constraints of manmade laws.
We've each had our own Path towards achieving Personal Sovereignty!! Congrats on you own, Martin!!
Since age 70 I've been on a steep learning curve, enjoying the unfolding as it has been happening! Now I've reached age 80, so it has been an amazing 10 years!! Blessings on all as we move forward!!
Interesting material, Martin. You've been through a lot, and it has been fun and educational to follow you through it all.
I was wondering about your use of "sovereignty", The entire Strawman effort and its emphasis on being a Sovereign Individual sounds attractive, and I would certainly like to be free of taxes, but it all feels too much of a struggle, not fun, and most importantly, a Sovereign Man world allows a lot of self-will. It appears to be built into the entire concept.
Yet in the Declaration of Independence for what became the USA, and again in the Constitution, the central issue is that the People, as individuals and as a whole, are the sovereign for the nation. This is because God is truly sovereign and in creating humans, He delegated (in effect) the same kind of sovereignty to us (made in His image and all that). That kind of sovereignty appears to be fully legitimate according to your use of the term above, because not only does it clearly establish our right to self-rule via a republican form of government but *also* it leads inevitably for any thoughtful person to us having a concurrent duty to God to rise into His will and not simply use our sovereignty as the Sovereign Man movement does.
I'd be interested to know if you think that the definition of the People as sovereign is an interesting way to encourage people to rise above mere Law and, due to holding a delegated form of His rights, we are encouraged to become more like Him as part of growing into that sovereign nature that He has granted to us. It seems very different from the Sovereign Man concepts.
