My interpretation, however, is that some of the data pulled into Martin's nest by this AI is actually data from outside that is real. Certainly, there are many people waking up, so it is not a big jump to see at least a reflection of that in this nest. The key isn't that people are waking up but that people are seeing that other people are also waking up. At some point you can see a preference cascade that brings out a major change.
For a "Leader" to be able to lead, they must generate followers who are willing to follow.
