God bless you and your Father--Darren, Lee, Freddy and all of the maintainers. Your ability to see the humanity in others and to continue to increase our awareness is an incredible gift. Because of you, the world is a better place--good things are coming because of your dedication to the truth!
Another brilliant thought piece... I too am very aware of the value of the fixers. Recently I have
had a sunroom built on my house. Professionasl hired to do the structure, 2 of them, both highly paid for a job poorly done. It seems this is the norm nowadays. I, fortunately have figured out how to fix their sloppy work myself and will do so when the rain dries up and my healing fractured arm is strong enough. As I was forlorn as to the near impossibility of finding capable, responsible help, along comes Tyler. I live in B.C under the canopy of massive evergreens, which were presently dropping branches onto my house. I situation with some cause for alarm I assure u. I landed on Tyler after receiving some outrageous quotes for removing some branches. Tyler is a climbing arborist Guru. He appears a little rough around the edges, tattooed up the yang and somewhat grubby, but when he went up that tree, it was as angels singing. The skill, the nerve and the patience left me in awe. There he was with ropes and pulleys and a chainsaw dangling about the family jewels he was a whirlwind of mastery. After a 7.5 hour day up in that tree, down he came whereby I paid him more than he had asked and topped it with a grand piece of pie and whipped cream. That lovely, dedicated, skilled man with rough edges is one of the most dedicated fixers I have ever met. I am a "quit" doc and compared to my colleagues I left behind, Tyler embarrassed them all.
Love the first photo! Way to make lemonade out of car woe lemons!
Dh has worked as a lifelong fixer of things, personally and professionally. He is still employed as a fixer in his 70s, a marvellous repository of knowledge. And there are millions of “fixers” in my nation who help keep the wheels of our amazing interconnected society rolling. It is a daily miracle. Despite all the flaws, our society works! It foxtrotting works! People get up, put on their pants, go to work, so that we have goods, services, infrastructure, and much more. We have no idea of the immensity of what what we have. We just expect it will be there - and it is. Thanks be to those who understand we must give back and contribute.
