I dumped PayPal for reservations at our little B&BHotel at the start of the “pandemic” and had similar issues doing so.
We simply “froze” our business bank account and opened a second one with our bank until all our payments and COVID-19 Cancellations were processed — PayPal had to wait for us, imagine that, for 3 months 😂
I cancelled my PayPal account three days ago. I was glad to be part of the backlash. The writing had been on the wall for quite some time - IN BOLD. They've become odious rotters, part of the cancel culture Totalitarian Thought Police, so cancelling them was highly appropriate and satisfying - even JOYFUL. Good riddance to them.
My declared reason for closing my account was: "You've shown your true colours on numerous occasions. I don't like political bullying. I don't support the path to tyrannical totalitarianism."
I enjoy thinking we were all cancelling Paypal accounts at the same time across the waters! "Compromising for convenience"and comfort is at the root of our culture in all areas ( food, "drive through" everything, 'instant gratification', etc) that it has been too easy to fall into a pattern of doing....and I must 'self report' here that comfort seeking behaviors can override our best moral decisions... Bravo for continuing to raise the bar on helping us all seek courage over 'temporary comfort' and find the authentic comfort of activating our inner Divinity!

Ditto, Martin, I'm using World Remit instead for sending money to friends and family. It seems a safer option.
