I really like this short essay and short video format you're using, Martin. It feels like a supportive chat from a friend, who knows full well how challenging it is to maintain the psychological discipline to avoid thoughts of vengeance or retribution, and not collapse into counterproductive forms of self-soothing.

There is definitely a spiritual component to all of this, and we need to find ways to refresh ourselves on a daily basis. We will have to be anchors as "those who colluded and conspired find we no longer trust them," and societal habits become an impossibility for wide swaths of the population.

Intelligent voices like your own are essential as we sort through what comes next. Thank you for your funny, warm greetings at the beginning of each video, which sets up the whole tone on a positive note. It's essential that we are kind to each other, and that is coming through in your content.

Paloma,

I was going to write myself, basically what you have written in a much more beautiful way than I would have. I feel exactly the same way Martin. And I am so grateful for your short videos. This morning early, I was going over all of this in my mind.... feeling lonely with the lack of love and the silence from my children and friends. And then here comes Martin to keep us going... Martin, you have a gift for communicating so clearly from your heart AND brain... not one or the other. You continue to give so much to each of us.

And thank you again Paloma, for your beautiful response.

Love to all

Cynthia

"And then here comes Martin to keep us going..." indeed. Today was PERFECT. God bless you, Martin.

So lovely to read your kind words to me, Cynthia. I really hear you about the strange isolation and lack of warmth which we've been dealing with. It has thrown me back on what my father used to call "inner resources" (and as a child I had literally no idea what he was talking about.) However there are a few voices in the wilderness, (foghorns in the bay?) which are orienting and comforting to see, hear, and read.

Paloma, another beautiful note from you. Thank you. I feel many of us have become aware of our 'inner resources' in the last few years. Nice to remember that about your father. Talking about wilderness and bay and foghorns... I live on an island in Maine, on the Penobscot Bay, and hear a foghorn all day and all night... yes my foghorn and these few voices are very comforting ...

Good morning Martin and Patriots! I’m a Gen X, and we are the base of the MAGA party. We are not stopping, full steam ahead. Hold the line with everything in your soul, because we are tired of the lies, and the last 20 years or so of our lives, we want peace, and we need peace for future generations. In order for that to happen, the cabal has got to go!! We are just fine with 10 steps backwards, if it means moving forward without them! Where we go one, we go all! Have a blessed Sunday! 🙏

Thank you Martin, I really value your thoughts and input, and your wonderful way with words (and with photography) to express the complex inner process we are going through. Yes simple diversions like being with kind and resonant people helps so much. And also reading supportive words from very thoughtful and articulate people like yourself. X

Kids, it's always been about THEM! I have a feeling a lot of us will become adoptive parents in some fashion. Mentoring, modeling, and supporting the "Greatest Generation" (h/t Clif High) to ever walk the earth. It is my honor and privilege.....

I’ve done that, and financially helped my “adopted daughter and granddaughter”, and then she went back to her biological mom who gave her up for drugs, and her foster mom who treated her like garbage! Can someone take the “Doormat” sign off my back please. The millennials are ridiculous.

God bless you Karen! I believe as long as we follow our heart, we can never regret what we do.....even though those we try to reach out to do not respond as we would like. That is their choice.....all we can do is our best to express our most loving self. What happens then is up to the choice and journey of the other.

Thank you! Between my husband and I we have 6 kids. All 4 girls are woke! I don’t get it? We let them go with love, we pray for them daily and asked God to guide them back to Him. Nothing else we can do. We’re here if they need us. God Bless you too! ❤️

In the future, generations can look back at this substack and know what it was like for us at this point in history. It is such nice documentation. You may have to write a book someday. No one can tell it like you.

Thank you for words of Wisdom. It's much easier to "hold the line" with communities like this one.

Thanks Martin. The aspect of this that resonated most deeply with me is the need to not do self damage such as eating too much candy, drinking too much alcohol and exercising too little. (Guilty of all I admit). I know that I need to stay physically fit and mentally alert to serve my family, friends and others. My body responds well to a strong intention combined with disciplined action steps. For the rest of November I will alternate days of healthy eating with days of fasting. By the end of November I will be in great shape to serve my fellow humans in need. Thanks again for the reminder.
