I cried 3 different times reading your article. I don't cry easily or often. When you wrote, "I want to discover that the friendship was always larger than the narratives that came between us.", that hit a spot very deep in my heart and I had to stop reading for a few minutes. It hit on my deepest need of human connection, recognition, and companionship. Which really boils down to Love. How much I crave it and how starved of it I have been for quite some time.
Then you wrote, "Can they acknowledge the continuity between the young man they trusted on a Scottish mountainside and the older man whose account of the world they may find almost impossible to comprehend? And can I offer them the same recognition in return?", and that challenged me. That's where it all starts. With me putting myself out there to others, without expectation of anything in return. Risking that rejection is the difficult part. I believe we're not living if we are not willing to take that risk. (I'm not good at it, but I believe I am more and more willing.)
Also you wrote, "I want to believe we can still find each other." I want to believe that too.
Lastly, it leads me to properly grieve how my relationships from the past/present have been damaged, but it also brings to mind & heart the opportunity for us to connect with others that we can now see have more similar life journeys and their life experience and questioning has shaped them into a like-minded friend.
Can we start having life experiences together?
Can we begin climbing mountains together?
Can we sit around the table and share delicious meals and deep conversations together?
Can we find the joy in human relationships we so long for?
I believe we can.
We need discernment though. Not all who have done the work to understand how pervasive the 5GW has become, desire restored relationships. Some want to be right and want others to acknowledge how right they are.
I know what that feels like. I've been there. I want to find those individuals who can see past being right and value most the heart connection with others.
I hope we are provided with these kinds of relationships that have the potential to be among the most sweet and edifying we have ever experienced. And that we can start making new memories together that help us to know, deeply, who each other are. Nourishment for the soul.
So sadly, profoundly beautiful, Martin! A version of life’s paradox being endured by many of us these days, sad to say. You’re sort of a hero in my book, and are truly gifted. In other words, you’re keeping a few of “we crazy ones” out here somewhat sane. Thank you.
"Oxford recognises me perfectly well as an alumnus. The Union recognises me as a life member. Their databases know who I am, their systems preserve my entitlements, and their invitations continue to arrive. Yet the person they recognise is little more than an administrative shadow of the person receiving them."
We are "strawmen", dead corporate entities and so are treated as such. In reality, we are living, breathing hu-mans. The former is a lifeless, soulless Statutory legal creation; the latter is a divine, eternal being made in the image of God. We have given our authority to the satanic realm and nothing will change until we revoke it! I try hard not to judge the zombies who are happy to continue with this "soylent green" status quo. I remain polite during social discourse most of the time, but it is getting harder and harder to do so. We are at war, the booty is the human species. Humanity has been wiped out many times by the same controllers instigating a Re-set. Hopefully, we will do better this time and the "Indians" will find a safe refuge in which to re-populate Earth. I hope, Martin, that you will be one of the "Indians". You, certainly, deserve to be! We may even end up on the same reservation! Hallelujah!
Thank you Martin! I have already shared this with an old friend of mine, with whom I share a gulf of difference since last we met over 30 years ago. He recently found me on social media and has connected, taking advantage of the fact that he now has my direct inbox to mock me (I can most definitely take it :)) and assert his legitimacy and that of his worldview, as both he and his wife are college administrators and I am an unwashed, uncouth barbarian of the lowest sort. Admittedly I took license with the last comment, but you get the drift.
I imagine that you are aware of this Martin, but I would like to remind you in the most complimentary way that you have a God given talent not only to bridge cognitive gaps but unite people on each side of the gap. Your sincerity and good intentions shine through difficult subject manner as you weave true and reliable information with recognizable cyphers for clear understanding, at least for those who wish to understand. Again, thank you sir!
Life is definitely simpler when you have no friends. Sadder, probably (arguably) but simpler. Oxford Uni is one of THE key centres of globalism; I expect you know that. All Souls College in particular, I think (not sure). When Trump posted, "You'll love how this ends" I have a sneaking suspicion he was mainly addressing American anons (Trump accounts, fusion energy, tariffs, no IRS, sovereign wealth fund, etc, etc). They will probably swoop in and buy what's left of impoverished GB from under our feet, lol. Yeah, not going so well is it?! Apologies, I mostly do dark humour these days; what did they call it in the WW1 trenches ... shell shock? We've probably got the 5G spiritual warfare equivalent by now, you & I. Couldn't you just say to your friends, "I've changed." They'll reply, "We know/noticed." Then you say, "You'll catch up with me in due course, but you'll wish you hadn't." Then you crack open some beers (OK fine wine, you being Oxbridge types) and get cooking. Sounds OK, no? In the unlikely event they ask questions, simply point them at Mike King (he's handy like that). Hey, it's nearly 11.3 ... again. When's the next one, has anybody checked?
