Had a similar experience (4 years ago) trying to explain "what was going on in the world" to my brother who is 5 years younger. I left that conversation more angry with myself and vowed that I needed to 'figure out how to talk about this stuff' without sounding like a nutjob. Still perfecting that craft :)
